James is a Partner at Arcis Capital Partners based in Washington, DC. His focus is the intersection of financial technology, wealth management, and media, and he has extensive cross-border business experience in both Asia and Europe. 

James has either worked for or advised many of the largest companies in the investment research industry, including Nasdaq-listed MarketWise, whose China business he founded, Southbank Investment Research, the UK subsidiary of The Agora, Investopedia, and The Motley Fool. James served as The Motley Fool’s first Director of Research & Analysis, was the lead advisor to its Motley Fool Income Investor advisory product for 10 years (outperforming the S&P 500 all 10 years), helped establish its UK equity advisory business, and was a founding commentator of Motley Fool Money, formerly the #1 business podcast on iTunes. 

A former hedge fund analyst and current Mensa member, James is also passionate about healthcare and serves on both the DC and global executive committees of the Sino-American Pharmaceutical Association (SAPA).
